Alice in Wonderland Machine Embroidery Designs

Alice in Wonderland machine embroidery designs in this collection: four downloadable designs inspired by the story by Lewis Carroll — Alice pouring tea, the White Rabbit as a royal trumpeter, a colorful Cheshire Cat in a top hat and monocle, and a disappearing Cheshire Cat.

Every product is a digital stitch file for a computerized embroidery machine. No finished embroidery, patch, clothing, fabric, thread or other physical item will be shipped.

What Alice in Wonderland embroidery designs are included?

The collection currently contains one Alice embroidery design, one White Rabbit design and two Cheshire Cat machine embroidery designs. At least one size of every design fits a 10x10 cm (3.94x3.94") embroidery field, commonly called a 4x4 hoop.

Alice tea-party embroidery design

The Alice Pours a Cup of Tea design shows Alice seated at a table and pouring tea from a kettle. It is the most suitable design in the collection for tea towels, aprons, table runners, reading pillows and themed tea-party textiles.

White Rabbit embroidery design

The White Rabbit Royal Trumpeter is a compact 4x4 design. Its vertical composition works well on pockets, small bags, quilt blocks, party banners and costume details.

Cheshire Cat embroidery designs

Two different Cheshire Cat designs are available. The Colorful Cheshire Cat features a blue face, green top hat, flowing ribbon, monocle and theatrical grin. Three sizes make it suitable for projects ranging from 4x4 quilt blocks to larger bags and pillows.

The Disappearing Cheshire Cat uses a spiraling composition that creates the illusion of the character vanishing into the air. It is a strong choice for fantasy clothing, pockets, tote bags and decorative panels.

Hoop sizes and embroidery fields

Commercial hoop names such as 4x4 and 5x7 are rounded labels. Always compare the exact width and height of the embroidery file with the machine’s real stitching field.

Some machines provide additional fields such as 12x12 cm. A file may be used whenever both its exact width and height fit the machine’s available field.

Machine embroidery file formats and download

Common formats supplied with all current designs in this collection include:

.dst, .jef, .pec, .vip, .hus, .pes, .exp, .dat and .vp3

Some products include additional formats. Check the individual product page before purchasing because not every embroidery machine reads every file type.

After purchase, the digital files are supplied in a ZIP archive. Extract the archive on a computer and transfer only the required size and machine format to the embroidery machine.

Fabric, stabilizer and needle recommendations

These Alice in Wonderland embroidery files contain filled areas, outlines and multiple color blocks. Stable support is important for keeping the eyes, facial details, outlines and decorative elements correctly aligned.

• Quilting cotton, poplin and linen: use medium-weight cut-away stabilizer and a 75/11 embroidery needle.
• Twill, canvas and bags: use medium-weight cut-away stabilizer. Test an 80/12 embroidery needle on dense fabric.
• Sweatshirts and knitwear: use soft cut-away stabilizer and an embroidery needle with a rounded or ballpoint tip.
• Velvet, fleece and textured fabric: use cut-away stabilizer underneath and a thin water-soluble topping above the fabric.
• Delicate fabric that may retain hoop marks: hoop the stabilizer and secure the fabric on top with temporary embroidery adhesive or another suitable floating method.

Do not use thin water-soluble topping as the only stabilizer beneath these filled designs. Topping controls the surface texture but does not provide permanent support after washing.

How to stitch the designs cleanly

1. Check the exact file dimensions and select a size that fits the machine’s real embroidery field.
2. Print a full-size template and check the placement before hooping.
3. Prewash fabric that may shrink during later laundering.
4. Hoop the fabric and stabilizer smoothly without stretching the material.
5. Use the smallest hoop that safely accommodates the selected file.
6. Follow the programmed color sequence and do not automatically sort or merge color blocks.
7. Make a complete test stitch using the intended fabric, stabilizer, needle and thread.
8. After embroidery, press from the wrong side on a soft surface to protect the raised stitches.

Do not substantially resize a finished embroidery file directly on the machine. Changing the dimensions without recalculating the stitches can alter density, underlay, outline registration and stitch length.

When decorating footwear, bags or structured accessories, embroider the fabric while it is still flat and assemble the item afterward. This provides safer hooping and more accurate registration.
