This download contains two separate winter poinsettia corner machine embroidery designs, each supplied in three sizes: six embroidery files in total. The asymmetrical floral corners combine red, white and peach poinsettias, berries, branches and blue-gray foliage for napkins, tablecloths, table runners, placemats, towels and cushion covers. This is a digital product, not a finished embroidered item.

Screen swatches are approximate and do not replace a physical Madeira thread chart. If you change the palette, preserve the contrast between light, medium and dark shades; that tonal separation creates the depth in the petals and blue-gray foliage.

How to use the two corners

Corner 1 has a wider, more open composition with long branches extending along both sides of the right angle. It works as a prominent accent on a tablecloth, table runner, large napkin, placemat or decorative cushion cover.

Corner 2 is more compact and extends farther along one side. It is useful for towels, napkins, table-runner corners and narrower textile areas. Each motif is a complete single-hooping design.

Practical embroidery FAQ

What can I do if a plastic hoop does not hold the fabric firmly enough?

Clean and dry the inner hoop surface, then apply thin non-slip rubber strips made for embroidery hoops. Place the strips evenly without wrinkles or overlap, and keep the screw, lock and machine-connection areas clear. Hoop the stabilizer and fabric together so the surface is firm and does not creep, but do not stretch the fabric out of shape. Rubber strips improve grip; they do not replace stabilizer. Read the full guide: Brother Embroidery Hoop Rubber: Non-Slip Rubber Strips.

Which tear-away stabilizer should I use for linen or cotton?

For stable woven linen or cotton, begin with one layer of medium-weight tear-away around 50–60 g/m². Madeira Cotton Soft 50 or 60 g/m² is a 100% recycled-cotton option; it tears softly, but short cotton fibers may remain beside dense stitching. Madeira CMX Tear 50 g/m² has a short-fiber wood-pulp and polyester structure designed to tear in every direction and usually leaves less visible fuzz. Test the largest, densest version on a fabric scrap before adding another layer. See the guide to tear-away stabilizers.

How should I stabilize fabric that stretches slightly?

For a slightly stretchy woven fabric, attach Madeira Cotton Fix to the wrong side without pulling the material, smooth it from the center outward, and hoop the fabric with the stabilizer when the item can be hooped safely. Another option is to hoop Cotton Fix with the paper side up, expose the adhesive area and place the fabric on it without stretching. If the fabric is a true knit, highly elastic or paired with dense embroidery, use a cut-away stabilizer for lasting support. See how to use Madeira Cotton Fix.

How do I place the design accurately on a napkin or tablecloth corner?

Print the template for the selected file at 100% scale. Mark the corner point and two fabric lines parallel to the finished edges, then align the template's horizontal and vertical axes with those marks. Check the distance from the outermost stitches to both hems before hooping. Keep the fabric grain straight: even a small skew is easy to see in a design that follows two edges.

How do I remove tear-away stabilizer without distorting the petals?

Remove the large free areas first, then tear the remaining backing away in small sections from the outer edge toward the embroidery. Support the stitched area with your fingers close to the point of removal. Do not pull the stabilizer across satin petals, narrow stems or small projecting details, because that can stretch the fabric and deform the embroidery edge.
