The Peacock on a Flowering Tree Machine Embroidery Design is a multicolor decorative motif supplied in seven original digitized sizes for clothing, cushions, textile panels and large interior projects. A graceful peacock with a long cascading tail is perched among curved branches, leaves and stylized pink blossoms. Its tall vertical composition is especially effective on a jacket back, the center of a large cushion, a wall panel or a quilt.

The soft palette of powder pink, silver gray, cream, olive and golden beige creates an elegant vintage effect. You may change the colors to coordinate with the fabric or interior, but keep enough contrast between the peacock, tail details, flowers, leaves and branches.

This is a digital machine embroidery product. A jacket, cushion, fabric, embroidered picture or any other finished item is not included.

Hoop and Embroidery-Field Requirements

  • 103.5x178.3 mm (4.07x7.02 ") — use an embroidery field of at least 130x180 mm (5.12x7.09 ");
  • 115.1x198.3 mm (4.53x7.81 ") — use an embroidery field of at least 140x200 mm (5.51x7.87 ");
  • 126.7x218.3 mm (4.99x8.59 ") — use an embroidery field of at least 140x220 mm (5.51x8.66 ");
  • 138.3x238.3 mm (5.44x9.38 ") — use an embroidery field of at least 160x240 mm (6.30x9.45 ");
  • 158.2x272.7 mm (6.23x10.74 ") — use an embroidery field of at least 180x300 mm (7.09x11.81 ");
  • 178.2x307.2 mm (7.02x12.09 ") — use an embroidery field of at least 200x360 mm (7.87x14.17 ");
  • 198.2x341.7 mm (7.80x13.45 ") — use an embroidery field of at least 200x360 mm (7.87x14.17 ").

Check your machine’s actual usable embroidery field before purchase. Commercial hoop names are often rounded and may not match the true stitching area.

The first file is 178.3 mm (7.02 ") high, leaving only 1.7 mm (0.07 ") of total clearance in a 130x180 mm field. It does not fit the common 127x177.8 mm (5x7 ") embroidery field. The largest file is 198.2 mm (7.80 ") wide, leaving only 1.8 mm (0.07 ") of total clearance in a field that is exactly 200 mm wide.

None of the included sizes fits a 100x100 mm (4x4 ") embroidery field.

Read our embroidery hoop and stitching-field guide if the advertised hoop name differs from the machine’s actual embroidery area.

Formats and Machine Compatibility

  • PES and PEC — used by many Brother and Baby Lock machines;
  • JEF and SEW — used by compatible Janome, Elna and some older Kenmore machines;
  • VP3, VIP and HUS — used by compatible Husqvarna Viking and Pfaff machines;
  • EXP — used by compatible Bernina and Melco systems;
  • DST — used by Tajima, Ricoma, Happy and many other commercial embroidery machines.

The download includes all seven sizes and all listed formats in one ZIP archive. You do not select only one size or format before purchase. Compatibility depends on the machine model, supported file format, maximum stitch count and available embroidery field. Check the machine manual before transferring the file.

See our embroidery machine file-format guide for more information.

Recommended Fabrics and Stabilizer

  • Denim jackets and structured garments: use a medium-weight cut-away stabilizer. Avoid placing dense areas directly over bulky seams.
  • Stable cotton and decorative textile panels: use medium cut-away for permanent support, or test a firm tear-away when the finished back must remain clean.
  • Cushion covers and upholstery-weight textiles: hoop the fabric and stabilizer securely without distorting the grain.
  • Knit garments: use cut-away or no-show mesh backing and a suitable ballpoint embroidery needle. Do not stretch the material while hooping.

If temporary spray adhesive is needed, apply a light, even layer to the stabilizer and then attach the fabric. Do not saturate the embroidery area. More information is available in our machine embroidery stabilizer guide.

Needle and Thread Recommendations

  • Use standard 40-weight rayon or polyester machine embroidery thread.
  • For stable woven fabric, begin with a fresh 75/11 or 80/12 embroidery needle.
  • Use a suitable ballpoint embroidery needle for knitted material.
  • Use lightweight embroidery bobbin thread rather than decorative thread in the bobbin.
  • Reduce the embroidery speed if fine outlines begin to shift or the upper thread starts to break.

The original pink, green, beige and silver-gray palette may be changed. Preserve clear contrast between the peacock, tail details, flowers, leaves and branches so that the individual elements remain visible.

Suitable Embroidery Projects

  • Back panels of denim jackets, coats and long vests
  • Framed textile pictures and decorative wall panels
  • Large cushions and ornamental pillow covers
  • Oriental-style curtains and interior textiles
  • Decorative bag panels
  • Statement embroidery for robes and special garments

For a ready-made jacket, check the position of seams, pockets and lining before hooping. When possible, embroider a flat garment panel before final assembly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this peacock design fit a 5x7 hoop?

The smallest file is 103.5x178.3 mm (4.07x7.02 "). It fits only when the machine’s actual usable embroidery field is at least this size. It does not fit the common 127x177.8 mm (5x7 ") field because the design is 0.5 mm taller.

Does it fit a 4x4 hoop?

No. The smallest version is wider than 100 mm and considerably taller than the usable field of a standard 100x100 mm (4x4 ") hoop.

Will the largest version fit a 200x360 mm hoop?

Yes, provided the machine supports a usable field of at least 198.2x341.7 mm (7.80x13.45 ") and can process the file’s 75476 stitches.

Can I change the peacock’s colors?

Yes. You may select a different thread palette. Keep sufficient contrast between adjacent feather, flower, leaf and branch sections.

Can I resize the design?

Seven professionally digitized sizes are already included. Use the closest original size whenever possible because substantial software resizing can alter stitch density, underlay, pull compensation and fine details.

Is this a finished embroidered picture?

No. This product contains downloadable machine embroidery files only.
