The collection includes realistic portraits, decorative and Baroque animals, floral compositions, appliqué motifs, children’s characters, Christmas designs and zodiac symbols.

These are downloadable digital files for computerized embroidery machines. No finished embroidery, clothing, fabric or other physical product will be shipped.

Hoofed Animals Included in the Collection

Hoofed animals are also known as ungulates. For easier browsing, this collection is organized around familiar animal groups and the projects for which they are commonly chosen.

Horse Embroidery Designs

Horse designs include detailed heads and portraits, decorative Baroque horses, floral compositions, appliqué horses, colorful interpretations and equestrian motifs. They are suitable for riding jackets, sweatshirts, tote bags, cushions, textile panels and personalized gifts for horse owners and equestrians.

Deer, Fawn and Reindeer Embroidery Designs

Choose from woodland deer, white-tailed fawns, stag portraits, winter animals and Christmas reindeer. The collection contains both realistic wildlife designs and friendly seasonal characters for children’s textiles, holiday clothing, stockings, gift bags, cushions and rustic home décor.

Goat, Sheep, Lamb and Ram Embroidery Designs

This group includes horned goat and ram portraits, mountain goats, baby goats, floral goat sets, Christmas lambs and zodiac-related motifs. Use them for farmhouse textiles, nursery projects, kitchen towels, fabric pouches, children’s clothing, Christmas gifts and Year of the Goat projects.

Cow, Bull, Bison, Buffalo and Antelope Designs

Farm and wildlife themes include cattle portraits, decorative cows, breeding bulls, humorous cow characters, powerful buffalo and bison heads, and festive antelopes. These designs work well on denim jackets, workwear, kitchen textiles, tote bags, cushions, rustic décor and statement embroidery panels.

Embroidery Styles and Themes

  • Realistic animal portraits with layered shading and detailed facial features;
  • Decorative and Baroque designs for clothing, cushions and statement projects;
  • Floral animal compositions combining hoofed animals with flowers, leaves or wreaths;
  • Appliqué designs that combine embroidery stitches with selected fabric pieces;
  • Children’s and cartoon animals for nursery textiles, clothing and handmade gifts;
  • Christmas designs featuring reindeer, deer, lambs, goats and festive accessories;
  • Zodiac designs including Aries rams and Chinese Year of the Goat motifs.

The style should match both the fabric and the intended use. A detailed portrait can become the main feature on a jacket back or decorative panel, while a smaller character is usually more practical for a pocket, stocking, gift bag or child’s sweatshirt.

Projects for Hoofed Animal Embroidery

  • horse portraits on riding jackets, sweatshirts and equestrian gifts;
  • deer, bison and buffalo designs on denim, canvas and rustic home textiles;
  • reindeer and festive deer on Christmas stockings, gift bags and holiday clothing;
  • goats, sheep, lambs and cows on farmhouse kitchen towels and decorative cushions;
  • baby goats, lambs and fawns on nursery textiles, blankets and pajama bags;
  • zodiac goats and rams on personalized birthday gifts and textile panels;
  • decorative animal heads on tote bags, wall hangings and jacket backs.

When embroidering a stocking, bag or other constructed item, stitch the design on the flat fabric panel before assembly whenever possible. This provides easier hooping and prevents the reverse layer, lining or pocket from being caught in the embroidery.

Choosing the Design Size and Hoop

There is no universal hoop size for this category. Each product page provides the exact design dimensions, stitch count, number of included sizes and available machine formats. Check these specifications before purchase.

  • Compare the design dimensions with your machine’s actual usable embroidery field, not only the external hoop dimensions.
  • Allow enough fabric around the design for hooping, placement and later construction.
  • Consider stitch density as well as physical size. A detailed portrait may require firmer support than a light outline or appliqué motif.
  • Avoid substantial independent resizing. Changing the dimensions can affect density, underlay, outlines, small facial details and registration between color blocks.
  • Use the original supplied size whenever possible and make a complete test stitch before embroidering the finished item.

Fabric, Stabilizer, Needle and Thread

  • Cotton, linen, twill and canvas: hoop the fabric with tear-away or cut-away stabilizer selected according to the stitch density and final use.
  • Sweatshirts, knitwear and children’s clothing: use cut-away stabilizer and a ballpoint embroidery needle. Do not stretch the fabric while hooping.
  • Denim and firm woven fabric: use adequate backing and a sharp embroidery needle suitable for the fabric weight.
  • Fleece, terry cloth and other textured surfaces: place lightweight water-soluble topping above the fabric so small details do not sink into the pile.
  • Velvet or fabric that may retain hoop marks: stabilize the hoop first and float the fabric when direct hooping could damage the surface.

Standard 40-weight rayon or polyester machine embroidery thread is suitable for many filled animal designs unless the individual product documentation specifies another thread. Use a sharp 75/11 or 80/12 embroidery needle for most woven fabrics and a ballpoint needle for knits.

Test the complete design using the same fabric, stabilizer, needle and thread intended for the finished project. This is particularly important for large portraits, layered shading, small eyes and facial features, appliqué placement lines and designs embroidered on stretchy or textured materials.

Digital Download and Machine Formats

After purchase, you receive a ZIP archive containing the purchased machine embroidery files. Depending on the individual product, available formats may include PES, DST, JEF, PEC, VP3, HUS, EXP and other common embroidery-machine formats. The exact formats are listed on each product page.

Extract the archive before transferring files to your machine and select only the correct format and design size. Use the free Royal Present online ZIP unzip tool if you cannot open the archive. The Embroidery Machine File Formats Guide explains which file extensions are commonly used by different embroidery-machine brands.

Designed for Real Machine Embroidery Projects

Royal Present Embroidery is created by Ludmila Konovalova, a professional machine embroidery designer and digitizer. Designs are developed with attention to stitch direction, density, underlay, color sequence, trims, thread behavior, fabric type and usable hoop field.

Because the products in this collection differ in size, technique and stitch density, make your final choice using the technical information on the individual product page rather than applying one set of embroidery settings to the entire category.

You may use Royal Present embroidery files for personal projects, gifts and finished physical products sold by a small handmade business. Industrial or factory mass production is not included in the standard license.

This category features machine embroidery designs of hoofed mammals such as unicorns, elephants, alpacas, llamas, and other ungulates. Designs include realistic and stylized depictions, decorative elements, and whimsical compositions suitable for clothing, home décor, and children’s projects.

These designs are perfect for embellishing pillows, tote bags, table runners, clothing, wall hangings, quilt blocks, nursery décor, and holiday-themed items. They add a playful, magical, or exotic touch to embroidery projects.

Many designs, especially single animals or smaller motifs, are beginner-friendly due to moderate stitch counts. Larger scenes, dense stitching, or intricate multi-element compositions may require intermediate or advanced embroidery skills.

Medium-weight cotton, linen, twill, or canvas fabrics are ideal. Tear-away stabilizers work well for light or smaller designs, while cut-away stabilizers are recommended for dense or larger motifs. Water-soluble toppers help maintain stitch clarity on textured fabrics.

Yes, these designs are available in multiple hoop sizes and popular machine formats including PES, DST, JEF, EXP, HUS, and more, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of embroidery machines.

Yes, most Ungulates designs include a commercial license allowing you to sell finished embroidered items. Redistribution or resale of the digital files is strictly prohibited.
