This downloadable one-colour machine embroidery design features a decorative Islamic crescent and star in a golden-yellow palette. Use it for Ramadan and Eid decorations, prayer-accessory bags, book covers, cushion panels, wall hangings and fabric gift bags.

Hoop Requirements

The design requires a complete 100x100 mm (3.94x3.94") embroidery field, commonly called a 4x4 inch hoop.

The file measures 98.8x98.8 mm, leaving only 1.2 mm of clearance on each axis, or approximately 0.6 mm on every side. It will not fit an 80x80 mm or 90x90 mm embroidery field.

Always compare the exact design dimensions with the actual embroidery area supported by your machine rather than the outside dimensions or commercial name of the hoop.

Madeira Thread Colour Map

The embroidery file contains one programmed colour. Madeira Classic Rayon No. 40, colour 1068, is the original chart colour. For a true metallic gold finish, we recommend replacing it with Madeira FS Metallic No. 40, colour 4004 Gold 4.

Recommended thread: Madeira FS Metallic No. 40, colour 4004 Gold 4, creates the true metallic gold finish shown in the project visualisation.

The coloured squares are approximate screen references. Metallic shine cannot be reproduced accurately on a monitor, so select the thread by its Madeira range and colour number.

Madeira 1068 is a glossy rayon shade, not metallic thread. Its bright yellow colour creates a gold appearance on navy, black, emerald and burgundy fabric. Screen colours are approximate; select the thread by its Madeira number.

Place the motif respectfully. Avoid footwear, floor-level projects, seating surfaces and items likely to become heavily soiled or casually discarded.

Fabric, Stabilizer and Needle

• Cotton, linen and canvas: use a medium-weight tear-away stabilizer and a 75/11 embroidery needle.
• Cushions, bags and loosely woven fabric: use cut-away backing for permanent stitch support.
• Velvet, fleece and terry cloth: add a thin water-soluble topping above the fabric so the stitches remain visible above the pile.
• Knit fabric: use cut-away stabilizer and a ballpoint embroidery needle.

Hoop the fabric smoothly without stretching it. Test the complete design on a sample of the same fabric and stabilizer before embroidering the finished item. See How to Prevent Puckering in Machine Embroidery for additional stabilization advice.

Metallic gold thread can be substituted after a test stitch. Use a metallic needle No. 90/14, reduce the embroidery speed to approximately 200–500 stitches per minute and adjust the upper-thread tension if necessary.

The design uses one colour block and requires no thread changes. The complete crescent and star are embroidered with Madeira 1068.

Can the design be resized?

Substantial resizing is not recommended because it can change stitch density and the appearance of the decorative details. Use the supplied 98.8x98.8 mm file whenever possible.

Is this a finished embroidered patch?

No. This product contains digital files for computerized embroidery machines. Fabric, thread and a finished embroidered item are not included.
