Frequently asked questions
How do I place such a small motif accurately?
Print the selected size at 100% scale and mark the center of the complete design, not the bunny’s face alone. A few millimeters make a visible difference on a pocket or near an edge. Before stitching, run a trace to keep the ears, dry branches and leaves clear of seams and finished edges.
Can I stitch the bunny on a patch pocket?
Yes, provided the pocket front can lie flat and remain separate from its back. If construction allows, open a small part of the seam, embroider the front, then resew the seam. On a finished bulky item, use a suitable magnetic or clamp hoop. Apply a light layer of Gunold KK 100 only to the stabilizer to hold the fabric in place.
How do I stabilize loose linen for this small design?
Prewash or steam-shrink the linen, then press it flat. As a starting point, divide the fabric weight by 3 for total backing support: 180 g/m², about 5.3 oz/yd², of linen needs roughly 60 g/m², about 1.8 oz/yd², of stabilizer. Madeira Cotton Soft works on firm stable linen. For loose linen or a fabric that moves in the hoop, use Gunold Stiffy 2040 Cut Away and stitch a test on the same material.
What changes on terry, fleece or velour?
Place Sulky Solvy water-soluble topping over the surface and secure it with a basting box. It holds the pile down so the eye, whiskers, bandage lines and leaf veins remain visible. Use Gunold Stiffy 2040 Cut Away beneath a stretchy or piled fabric. Smooth woven cotton does not need topping.
