Instead of putting your embroidery thread on the post on the back of your embroidery machine, try placing it in a cup. This may sound like a strange idea, but it does work. This works because certain types of embroidery thread, such as metallics, need to be able to unspool a bit before they reach the embroidery machine. By putting the embroidery thread in a cup a few feet from the machine, you give the thread a chance to unspool correctly, which will help to prevent breakage. So if you're having trouble with embroidery thread breakage, give this embroidery hack a try - you may be surprised at how well it works!
