Let me give you a piece of advice. If you use a fabric water-soluble stabilizer like GUNOLD Solvy Fabric your mask will be soft and elastic in the wash. The tear-away stabilizer makes the mask a bit more firm

Love the embroidery. Did not care for the way the mask was put together. Not close enough to the face to be effective. Seam at nose and chin is bothersome. I think if the design was split to allow the joining of a left and right side and then lined to allow a closer fit it would be great.

RP... hats off... face masks ON!! These sugar skull face masks were so easy to make with great stitch-out! I made this for the bride and groom at their Covid Wedding! Added their names and some bling on the earrings for her. A big hit!! My only wish is that the PDF instructions included a little more information to make it a no-brainer... recommended hoop size, and more visual representations of when to cut the top layer and other steps (I figured it out the hard way!).

I love making these things. The kids love the sugar skulls and skeleton faces. Here's a trick. I like to make masks adjustable so I add a bead so the straps can be made comfortable. Also, by using 2 pieces of elastic, it's much easier to keep on the interfacing when you do that step. I spray the ends with a bit of temporary basting spray to hold it down.

I love this design but it didn’t stitch 100% , although the mistakes matched , ie the black around the bottom pattern was off , it also didn’t fit as a mask , just sat on my chin

I love the way this mask stitched out and once I wrapped my head around how to do the nose and chin it was a breeze! I have difficulty breathing in masks so I made it with Organza and batiste which makes it so much easier to get enough oxygen.
