This is a digital machine embroidery design set for Christmas napkins and a fabric napkin holder cover. It includes two coordinated designs: compact fir sprigs with red berries and a snowflake, plus an asymmetric Christmas corner with evergreen branches, holly, berries and a snowflake.
The set contains 10 prepared files: five sizes of each design. The small sprig composition works on a napkin holder cover, guest towel or the centre of a small napkin. The corner is made for the edge of a napkin, table runner or placemat.

Design 1: 1397 → 1037 → 1004.
Design 2: 1397 → 1369 → 1037 → 1340 → 1257 → 1037 → 1004. Do not merge the repeated red thread change: it is required for the correct stitching sequence.
For napkins, use stable linen or cotton-linen in the 150–220 g/m² range, or dense non-stretch cotton. Before embroidering, wash, dry and press the fabric using the same care method planned for the finished item.
On open-weave or porous linen, stitch a full test first. The fir needles, berries and fine branches should sit on the surface rather than sink between the threads of the cloth.
For a linen napkin, begin with Madeira Cotton Soft tear-away stabilizer. Use Madeira Cotton Stable if the cloth shifts; use Madeira Weblon Plus for a very thin or unstable base.
Starting formula: fabric weight in g/m² ÷ 3 = the total weight of the backing stabilizer. For 180 g/m² linen, use about 60 g/m² of support. This is the combined weight of the backing layers, not the weight of each layer.
A water-soluble topping is not needed on smooth linen. Place Madeira Avalon Film on top of terry cloth, fleece, velvet or another pile surface so the small details do not disappear into the pile.
Begin with a new 75/11 embroidery needle. For coarse, dense linen, use an 80/12 after a successful test. Hoop the fabric and stabilizer flat without stretching. If the fabric puckers, do not increase the upper-thread tension first: check the stabilizer, needle and hooping instead.
Yes. The set includes compact sprigs for a small area and a larger asymmetric corner. Each design has five prepared sizes.
Mark the napkin corner and the placement lines before hooping. Hoop the napkin so the corner points inward into the finished item, not toward the outer cut edge.
Use one of the prepared sizes. Automatic resizing changes stitch density and stitch length, so a different exact size requires professional resizing.
