This Vintage Floral Monogram Frame and Corner Machine Embroidery Design Set was digitized from a floral ornamental illustration found in an 18th-century book. The original historical linework has been carefully adapted for machine embroidery while preserving its graceful fern leaves, flowers, hanging botanical details and refined antique character.
The set contains two coordinating design types: an oval floral frame for a monogram and a separate floral corner. The frame can be personalized with an initial, name or date added separately, while the corner can be rotated, mirrored and repeated around cushions, table linens, bedding and other heirloom-style textile projects.

The oval frame is designed for personalized embroidery on decorative cushions, pillowcases, guest towels, wedding linens, keepsake bags and framed textile panels. Before adding lettering, place the frame and monogram together in embroidery software and check that the letter does not touch the floral stitches. Leave approximately 6–10 mm (0.24–0.39") between the lettering and the inner edge of the frame.
The corner can be embroidered individually on a napkin, towel or pillow corner. It can also be rotated through 90 degrees and repeated four times around a cushion. When creating a four-corner composition, print placement templates first and mark the vertical and horizontal center lines on the fabric.
Both elements are programmed as one-color designs. The original color chart uses Madeira Classic 1020 – Peach. Because the embroidery depends on texture and light rather than multiple color changes, it also works beautifully in tone-on-tone, antique botanical and high-contrast combinations.
| Fabric | Fabric color | Thread | Madeira Classic rayon | Finished effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Powder pink | 1107 – Pink | Romantic powder-on-powder embroidery with soft visible relief. | ||
| Blush pink | 1020 – Peach | Warm vintage pink close to the original color chart. | ||
| White linen | 1071 – Ivory | Delicate heirloom effect for white cushions and wedding linens. | ||
| White cotton | 1039 – Ruby | Strong historical redwork-inspired contrast. | ||
| Natural linen | 1036 – Brown | Antique botanical engraving effect. | ||
| Deep navy | 1024 – Gold | Formal royal contrast for cushions, velvet and evening accessories. | ||
| Charcoal gray | 1087 – Silver Grey | Restrained vintage silver without using metallic thread. | ||
| Soft sage | 1303 – Dark Green | Botanical tone-on-tone embroidery with readable details. |
Madeira Classic 40 rayon is particularly effective for this design because its natural-looking sheen follows the direction of the satin and decorative stitches. Even a close tone-on-tone combination remains visible when light moves across the embroidered surface.
| Fabric | Recommended stabilizer | Practical note |
|---|---|---|
| Medium linen or firm cotton | Gunold STIFFY 1650 tear-away, 50 g/m² (1.47 oz/yd²) | One securely hooped layer is normally sufficient. Tear away in small sections while supporting the decorative stitches. |
| Lightweight pillow cotton or sateen | Floriani Medium Tearaway, 51 g/m² (1.5 oz/yd²) | Use a second layer if the fabric begins to move around the oval frame. |
| Loose linen, velvet or stretch fabric | Madeira Super Strong cut-away, 80 g/m² (2.36 oz/yd²) | Provides permanent support. Add a water-soluble film topping when stitching on velvet or fabric with a raised surface. |
