We want to give you some practical advice so that the embroidery project will turn out to be beautiful and successful.
First, always think through every step of your embroidery project. This will help you avoid many mistakes.
Secondly, try to test embroidery whenever possible. To do this, use the same technology you chose for the embroidery project. Otherwise, it will be difficult for you to be guided by the results of the test and to predict the future result.
Note: By embroidery technology we mean the choice of the stabilizer, the methods of hooping, yarn and needle, as well as the ratio of the fabric to the embroidery and the design itself.
Thirdly, remember the main rules of stabilization. Light and thin tissues require a dense stabilizer, and, conversely, dense tissue is needed in light or medium-weight stabilizer.
Fourth, for loose, elastic or woven fabric use a water-soluble stabilizer on top.
We hope that these tips will help you in fulfilling your most anticipated and favorite projects. Valentines day embroidery design Two love birds will inspire the creation of a gentle and romantic embroidery.
And finally, we want to talk to you about thread tension in machine embroidery. Since such a seemingly uncommon and irrelevant concept plays a big role.
Thread tension in machine embroidery
Proper thread tension is the key to a successful embroidery project. It exerts a direct influence on the path of the thread through the machine, into the hook area during embroidery. This, in turn, ensures that the stitches are not shifted on the fabric.
That is why it is so important to adjust the correct thread tension. If, for example, it is larger, the lower thread extends to the front of the product and is visible above the stitches. Conversely, if the tension is too low, there will be unnecessary loops in the lower thread region.
There is question how to adjust correct tension of a thread? There are two possible options. You can learn to do this yourself, and remember from the personal experience the coefficient of tension for each type of thread. The second option is to use a specially created accessory for this.
For example, the machine manufacturer Tajima offers a special sensor for setting the tension of the upper thread. For the measurement, follow the instructions from the manufacturer.
The following coefficients can be considered valid values:
~ For viscose yarn: 100-130 g
~ For polyester - 110-150 g
For the lower thread tension there is also an appropriate control sensor. You can also check the correct thread tension manually. To do this, put the bobbin case on the palm of the left hand, and pull the thread with your right hand. The thread tension is correctly adjusted if the bobbin cap rises with the thread. Then it must descend under pressure of its own gravity. Or, if you need to lightly press your finger to lower the bobbin case.
By the way, do you know that traditionally the word FOX is used to check the correct thread tension. It is thought that when this word is embroidered, the pantograph moves in all directions. This allows you to see the shortcomings.
And finally, advice: The accumulated dirt under the embroidery spring sometimes causes insufficient tension of the thread. Therefore, check the machine for cleanliness before beginning each new embroidery project.
