The Floral Cross with Bow and Scrollwork Machine Embroidery Design is a light, vertical composition created for christening and baptism textiles. A small cross formed from flowers rises above a large ribbon bow, while a central blossom, fine foliage, tiny flowers and symmetrical scrolls extend across the lower part of the motif. The open construction keeps the design delicate on white satin, linen and ceremonial fabric instead of turning it into a heavy filled emblem.
This listing contains one professionally digitized size measuring 99.4x153.2 mm / 9.94x15.32 cm / 3.91x6.03 in. The proportions are especially effective on the skirt panel of a christening gown, the decorated end of a baptism towel, a ceremonial pillow, blanket panel, Bible cover or framed textile keepsake.
The purchase includes the digital machine-embroidery files only. A finished gown, towel, pillow, fabric, thread, stabilizer, lace and physical embroidery are not included.
Size: 99.4x153.2 mm (3.91x6.03 "), Stitches: 8501
Formats: .dst, .jef, .pec, .vip, .hus, .pes, .exp, .sew, .dat, .vp3, art
The archive contains one floral-cross motif in one prepared size, not a set of several separate designs.
| Design size | Recommended embroidery field | Practical use |
|---|---|---|
| 99.4x153.2 mm / 9.94x15.32 cm / 3.91x6.03 in | 130x180 mm / 13x18 cm / 5.12x7.09 in or larger | gown skirt panel, baptism towel, ceremonial pillow, blanket panel or Bible cover |
A 130x180 mm / 13x18 cm / 5.12x7.09 in field, commonly called a 5x7 hoop, is the reliable choice. The file is 99.4 mm / 9.94 cm / 3.91 in wide, so it leaves comfortable clearance inside a 130 mm / 13 cm / 5.12 in field.
The design can appear to fit a 100x170 mm / 10x17 cm / 3.94x6.69 in field on paper, but it leaves only 0.6 mm / 0.06 cm / 0.02 in of total width clearance. Many machines reserve an internal safety margin and may reject the file. Use a 130x180 mm / 13x18 cm / 5.12x7.09 in hoop unless the machine manufacturer confirms the full usable field and the boundary trace passes without approaching the hoop edge. Read the hoop size and usable embroidery field guide before relying on a nominal hoop label.
This design does not fit a standard 100x100 mm / 10x10 cm / 3.94x3.94 in field, commonly called a 4x4 hoop.
The source color chart uses Madeira Classic Rayon No. 40 and contains three programmed blocks with two thread changes. It lists a total thread estimate of approximately 35.68 m / 39.02 yd.

The on-screen squares reproduce the shades shown in the original chart as closely as practical. They are not a substitute for a physical Madeira thread card: monitor calibration, lighting and rayon sheen alter the visible color. Use the Madeira numbers as the primary reference.
Technical note: the live product page lists 8,501 stitches, while the original color-chart image rounds or records the design as 8,500 stitches. The calculator-linked product value remains 8,501 because that is the active listing data.
The stitched sample in the gallery does not use the pale-green appearance of Madeira 1073. It replaces the first block with a pearly pink and keeps the yellow-gold and ivory details. To recreate a similar effect, use Madeira Classic 1115 Powder Puff Pink as a practical starting point for block 1, then retain 1083 Daisy for block 2 and 1071 Baby’s Breath for block 3.
Madeira 1115 is a suggested match for the photographed colorway, not the number printed on the original RPE-883-03 chart. Compare the spool against the final fabric and make a complete test stitch before embroidering an heirloom garment.
Press the fabric before hooping, use a full-size printed template and mark both centerlines. Support the garment or towel beside the machine so its weight cannot pull against the moving hoop. The detailed satin embroidery guide for this floral cross includes additional preparation and test-stitch advice.
The motif is 153.2 mm / 15.32 cm / 6.03 in high, so it needs an uninterrupted vertical area. Its strongest placements are the lower skirt panel of a long christening gown, the end of a baptism towel, the center of a ceremonial pillow, a blanket corner, a Bible cover or a framed heirloom panel.
A conventional baby bib is usually too small for this file despite the old one-line description on the product page. Use it on a bib only when the pattern has been measured and provides a flat embroidery area larger than 99.4x153.2 mm / 9.94x15.32 cm / 3.91x6.03 in plus seam and hoop clearance.
A name, baptism date or short dedication can be placed below the scrollwork. Assemble the complete composition in embroidery software and print it at 100% before hooping; do not overlap lettering with the fine stems or bow tails.
After purchase, download the ZIP archive, extract it and transfer only the format supported by the embroidery machine. If the device cannot open ZIP files, use the Royal Present Online ZIP Unzip Tool.

Use a 130x180 mm / 13x18 cm / 5.12x7.09 in embroidery field, commonly called a 5x7 hoop. The file measures 99.4x153.2 mm / 9.94x15.32 cm / 3.91x6.03 in.
No. The design is 153.2 mm / 15.32 cm / 6.03 in high and therefore exceeds a standard 100x100 mm / 10x10 cm / 3.94x3.94 in field.
Only if the machine provides the full usable field and accepts the file. The design is 99.4 mm / 9.94 cm / 3.91 in wide, leaving only 0.6 mm / 0.06 cm / 0.02 in of total width clearance. A 130x180 mm / 13x18 cm / 5.12x7.09 in field is the safer recommendation.
The original chart contains three unique Madeira Classic Rayon shades in three programmed blocks, producing two thread changes: 1073, 1083 and 1071.
The photographed sample replaces the chart’s pale-green first block with pearly pink. Madeira Classic 1115 Powder Puff Pink is a suggested starting point for recreating that appearance; it is not the first number printed on the original chart.
Usually not. The file is 153.2 mm / 15.32 cm / 6.03 in high, so most conventional bibs do not provide enough flat embroidery area. Measure the actual bib pattern and hoop clearance before deciding.
For stable woven satin, begin with soft lightweight cut-away or no-show mesh. For silk, sheer or specialty ceremonial fabric, test the complete fabric, stabilizer, needle and thread combination before embroidering the finished garment.
Strong scaling can alter stitch density, pull compensation, satin-column width and the alignment of the fine scrollwork. If another size is required, use the professional embroidery design resizing service with stitch recalculation.
The active listing specifies DST, JEF, PEC, VIP, HUS, PES, EXP, SEW, DAT, VP3 and ART.
You will receive a ZIP archive containing one digital machine-embroidery design in the listed size and formats. No finished gown, towel, pillow, fabric, thread, lace or stabilizer is shipped.
Yes. You may sell a limited number of finished physical products embroidered with the design. The digital files themselves may not be copied, shared, resold or redistributed, and factory-scale production is not included.
