Fold the napkin exactly as it will be presented and position a full-size paper template on the visible panel. Keep the stitched ground line above the hem or lace trim and leave enough open space around the tree so the branches remain clearly visible.
When lace has not yet been attached, embroider the flat napkin panel first and finish the decorative edge afterward.
Embroider the outer fabric panel before assembling the liner. Mark the finished fold, side seams, basket handles and lower edge before placing the design. Permanent cutaway support can remain hidden between the outer fabric and lining.
The smallest version requires a true 130x180 mm field. The middle version needs approximately 140x200 mm, while the largest is better suited to a 160x240 mm field or larger. Always compare the actual machine field with the file dimensions and run a boundary trace.
For stable linen or firm cotton, test tear-away backing. Use cutaway backing for loose linen, flexible basket panels or frequently handled textiles.
Fabric weight in g/m² = sample grams × 10,000 ÷ (length in cm × width in cm). Required stabilizer g/m² = fabric g/m² ÷ 3. For US measurements: fabric oz/yd² = sample ounces × 1,296 ÷ sample area in square inches, then divide by three.
Do not stretch the fabric while hooping. Complete a full test stitch because the rabbit outline, narrow fir branches, bows and hanging carrots must remain accurately aligned.
The smallest version is usually the most practical. Test its full-size template on the folded napkin before hooping.
Place the stitched ground line above the planned lace seam and embroider before attaching the lace whenever possible.
Hoop the fabric without stretching it, support the entire embroidery field and prevent the napkin or basket panel from pulling against the carriage.
No. The bunny, tree, carrots and bows form one flat machine embroidery composition stitched directly onto fabric.
Use cutaway backing and conceal it between the embroidered outer panel and the basket lining.
No. Independent resizing may damage density, underlay, pull compensation and outline alignment. Use the professional Resize of Design service when another size is required.
