| File | Pattern | Sizes | Top-thread use for the smallest version |
|---|---|---|---|
| RPE-1816-Patt1 | Symmetrical interlacing with four elongated loops around a central square | 3 | 42.15 m / 46.10 yd |

| RPE-1816-Patt3 | Diagonal knotwork with four prominent corner elements | 3 | 44.66 m / 48.84 yd |
| RPE-1816-Patt4 | Circular geometric lattice inside an open square frame | 3 | 44.35 m / 48.50 yd |
| Complete block | All four patterns arranged in one ready 2×2 layout | 1 | Not stated on the original production sheets |
Thread use comes from the original production sheets at 100% scale for the smallest versions. Actual consumption can vary by machine format, trims, jump stitches and machine settings.
The four individual production sheets list the same thread number and show 0 color changes. The screen color is only a visual guide; use the Madeira number when selecting a spool.
| Madeira Classic 40 | Official color name | What it stitches | Color change |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1076 | True Blue | All Celtic interlacing, geometric frames and internal lines in each individual pattern | None; one thread color stitches the complete individual design |
The blue, turquoise and purple samples shown in the product images demonstrate recoloring options. Because each individual file is monochrome, you can replace No. 1076 with one spool of your choice without changing the stitching sequence.
Always compare the design dimensions with your machine’s actual embroidery field, not only the rounded hoop name. See the guide to embroidery hoop sizes and stitching fields.
Use the separate squares as a repeating grid on a quilt, cushion cover, wall hanging or table runner. Alternating all four motifs creates rhythm without making one block look mechanically repeated. Choose the ready 2×2 file when you want the complete four-pattern arrangement in one hooping instead of aligning four separate stitch-outs. More compatible motifs are available in the machine embroidery quilt blocks collection.
For a layout made from separate files, print each template at 100%, mark the center and horizontal and vertical axes, and keep the spacing between blocks consistent. Stitch a sample before assembling the final project: even slight fabric pull can disturb the alignment of repeated geometric lines.
For stable quilting cotton or linen, use a firm tear-away backing such as fusible Madeira Cotton Stable. Madeira Cotton Fix is useful when the fabric or a prepared block should be held without traditional hooping. If you embroider an already layered quilt sandwich, test the same combination of top fabric, batting and backing first because the total thickness affects tension, corners and the registration of geometric lines. Compare backing types in the guide to choosing stabilizers for machine embroidery.
Hoop the fabric flat and secure without stretching it. If the square develops waves or straight lines curve after stitching, check the stabilizer, hooping tension and upper-thread tension before changing the design. Use the troubleshooting steps in how to prevent puckering in machine embroidery.
This is a digital machine embroidery product. No finished embroidery, fabric, thread or physical item will be shipped. After purchase, download and unzip the archive, choose the correct format for your machine, and check the exact design dimensions before transferring the file.
You may use these files to create a limited number of finished physical products for sale. Bulk manufacturing is not permitted. The digital embroidery files may not be sold, shared, exchanged or redistributed.
