How to Embroider on a Knitted Hat

Knitted fabric requires proper stabilization for clean results:

Stabilizing

• Use 1–2 layers of medium-weight tear-away stabilizer

• Always place water-soluble topping on top to prevent stitches from sinking into the knit

Hooping

• Do not overstretch the hat in the hoop

• For loose knits, consider floating the hat over hooped stabilizer

Needle & Thread

• Use 75/11 embroidery needle

• 40 wt polyester thread is recommended for durability and flexibility

Stitch Quality
The design is optimized, but for knit fabric ensure:

• Even fill coverage

• Minimal long jumps

• No excessive density

After stitching, carefully remove stabilizer and lightly steam through a pressing cloth.
