Festive Bullfinch is a digital machine embroidery design with a bright winter bird, branches and rich seasonal colors. It is made for Christmas pillows, towels, table linens, bedspreads, fabric gift bags, wall panels and cozy winter home décor.
This design works best as a medium or large decorative accent. Use it on a pillow front, guest towel, tablecloth corner, bedspread panel, tote bag, Christmas gift bag or framed textile art. The red bullfinch creates a strong color focus, so it looks especially good on light linen, cotton, canvas and neutral winter fabrics.
Important: this is a digital embroidery file for embroidery machines. No physical pillow, towel, tablecloth, gift bag, patch, bird picture or finished product will be shipped.
This is not a 4x4 hoop design. The smaller size is 113.5x178.0 mm / 4.47x7.01 inches and may fit a 130x180 mm / 5x7 inch embroidery field if your machine allows stitching close enough to the hoop limit. The larger size is 126.4x198.2 mm / 4.98x7.80 inches and usually needs a larger hoop, such as 140x200 mm / 5.5x8 inches or bigger.
Before purchase, check the real embroidery field of your machine, not only the hoop name. Some machines do not use the full stated hoop size near the edges.
For linen, cotton, canvas, gabardine, twill and stable woven fabrics, use medium tear-away or lightweight cutaway stabilizer. For pillows, bedspreads and wall panels, cutaway stabilizer gives better support if the fabric is soft or if the item will be used often.
For towels, waffle fabric, fleece or other textured materials, place a water-soluble topper on the front. This helps the bird details, small branches and color areas stay visible instead of sinking into the fabric surface.
Use clear contrast for the bullfinch chest, wing details and branch elements. Red, black, gray, brown and muted berry shades work well for a realistic winter look. On dark fabric, brighten the red and light gray areas so the bird does not disappear into the background.
Do not reduce the stabilizer for this design. The bird has filled areas and detail transitions, so weak support can cause puckering, especially on soft cotton, towels or thin linen.

Yes. Use stabilizer underneath and a water-soluble topper on top so the bird details do not sink into the towel loops.
Use enough stabilizer, do not stretch the fabric in the hoop, keep the fabric grain straight and test stitch before embroidering the final item.
Yes. It works well as a central pillow motif because the bullfinch has enough size, color and detail to become the main decorative accent.
Avoid strong resizing because feather details, filled areas and stitch density may change. Use the included sizes whenever possible.
