The main problems that can be caused by a metallic thread include its permanent breaking and excessive unwinding from the bobbin.
Therefore, we will consider the main actions aimed at eliminating these problems.
So, to prevent the yarn break, ALWAYS use a special needle for embroidery with a metallic thread. It has an increased, in comparison with the embroidery needle, eyelet. This allows the threads to pass easily and quickly through the needle. When using embroidery needle, you can observe the durability of the thread through the eyelet. Also, there may be burrs, which eventually lead to a breakage of the thread.
To prevent the thread from slipping and excessive unwinding, it is recommended to place the spool on the embroidery machine vertically. If, you do not have such a possibility, you can put it vertically near the machine.
And, at last, we want to remind you about the right choice of the thread manufacturer. Do not run the risk of working your embroidery machine. Buy the threads of only proven well-known brands. This will help to save your favorite machine from a breakdown, and your wallet from the additional costs of repairing the machine.
