The native land of Chihuahua is Mexico, but now they can be found all over the world. They are very popular in Hollywood, many celebrities have dogs of this breed. Even Marilyn Monroe had the one called Josepha, which was bought immediately after she’d signed the contract with Columbia Pictures.

Pugs originate from Ancient China, where by selection the dog got its famous wrinkles. To the Chinese, they resembled hieroglyphs, so were considered a sign of Royal or even Divine power.

Pugs were introduced to Europe in the middle ages, and for their unusual appearance became wanted among nobility. The most famous representative of the breed was the pug Fortuna, which belonged to Napoleon’s beloved Josephine.
