Typically, home textiles are made from terry cloth. Such a fabric base for embroidery is very popular. Let’s recall the main features of embroidery on terry cloth.

First, choose a fabric with a low pile and medium density. This will help prevent stitching. If you take too thick fabric, you can feel the problems with its hooping.

Second, choose the correct type of stabilization. Terry cloth requires the using of a “sandwich”. This concept in machine embroidery means the using of two types of stabilizer – the upper and lower. The lower stabilizer-base supports embroidery, does not allow stitches to move in any incomprehensible direction. In this case, the thin or medium-weight cut-away stabilizer is most often used. The upper, water-soluble stabilizer helps prevent fabric shrinkage, entanglement or skipping stitches. Most often, such problems occur due to the fact that the fabric is very loose.

Third, for embroidery on terry cloth, choose a needle with a rounded tip.

And finally, choose the designs of medium cover. So light designs like Redwork get lost in the fabric. Too dense will lead to the fact that embroidery will seem cumbersome. In addition, this is an additional load on your embroidery machine.
