Practical Embroidery Tips
- For sweatshirt fleece or knit fabric, use a new 75/11 embroidery or ballpoint needle.
- Hoop the fabric without stretching it. Stretching the knit in the hoop can cause rippling after removal.
- A speed of approximately 600–700 stitches per minute works well with standard 40-weight rayon or polyester thread.
- Black thread can be replaced with glow-in-the-dark embroidery thread. Reduce the machine speed and test the thread before stitching the final garment.
- Apply temporary spray adhesive to the stabilizer away from the embroidery machine so adhesive mist does not settle on the machine components.
- Avoid substantial resizing in the machine because it may change stitch length, underlay and registration.
