The word Biscornu is so funny and interesting. What is it? Biscornu is a French word that refers to something that is irregular or quirky.

In fact, it is a volume item, as a rule, decorated with cross-stitch embroidery or beads. It is sewn from two identical squares, which are rotated relative to each other by 90 degrees, sewn around the perimeter and in the center.

You can use it as a pins pillow, a small wedding cushion, Christmas Tree toys, or as an unusual decorative accessory. Also, it is a great idea to gift such creative items to your loved people and friends. If you want to greet the handkerchief, then gift her a Biscornu pin pillow. If it is a small child or even adult, present them a handmade Christmas toy. Decorate it with beads, or with crystals, and a creative gift is ready!

We in turn could not disregard such a lovely accessory. So we offer you a small master-class, how to create such an accessory, using any machine embroidery design for quilting from Royal Present Embroidery.

Biscornu Machine Embroidery Designs

Let us take Norwegian Ornaments Cross-stitch Embroidery Designs as a base. These patterns are universal, so you can use them for different embroidery projects as well as Biscornu.

We offer our customers 4 sizes of these designs. It means that you can embroider and sew Biscornu in 4 sizes. It is better when sides of the Biscornu are embroidered with a different pattern.

Then Biscornu will be more gorgeous. Nevertheless, you decide how will be this an eight-sided embroidered pillow look by yourself.

1. Now then take two ornaments 100×100 mm (4×4″) for a base. Embroider and cut it off, retreating approximately 1/3-1/6 Inch from the edge.

2. When you finish with cutting, iron edges along perimeter.

3. Place the squares in such a way like on the photo. You need to begin sewing the Biscornu in that place, where we mark the yellow line top down in the direction of the line.

When you will need to sew the last parts of Biscornu, do not forget to put a filler inside. It is preferable to choose polyester or hollofayber.

7. Now you need to sew the last edge and hiding the ends of the thread, cut it accurately

Biscornu is almost ready, but there is no important detail. You need to make the tightening in the center. Take the strong needle and the strong thread in two-plies. Find the setter of the bottom part of Biscornu and pierce it with a needle. Now you can put the pearl trough the needle and pierce the Biscornu again in a different direction and pulling the thread. Sew the pearl from another side. The tightening is ready.

Now you can sew the beads, pearls along the Biscornu and sew the tassels on the edges. Now the look of this Biscornu depends on your fantasy and the purpose of the item.

If it is the Christmas hanger sew for a rope on it. If it is the wedding pillow sew the tape in the middle in order to tie the rings. This item is really unique and universal.
