This Machine Embroidery Design Little Lamb is the star in our collection of machine embroidery designs for children. Such a beauty is perfect to be embroidered on swaddling clothes for newborns, quilts for older kids, or on clothes of your small princesses. Decorating baby clothes with the Machine Embroidery Design Little Lamb, tell the kids a few interesting stories about these good-natured animals.

How many sheep do you think are there on earth? Amazingly, there’s nearly a billion! And the “sheepiest” part of the world is undoubtedly New Zealand, where there are approximately 900 different breeds. Each year on February 15 this small country, where there are 20 times more sheep than people, celebrates the Lamb Day.

Many people think that sheep are exclusively domestic, but it is not true. Several wild species still live in Siberia, Altai and Mongolia. They can be much larger than their domesticated relatives. Over a meter in width, and their horns grow as much as 70 centimeters! These giants thrive in the mountains and are not afraid to jump from rock to rock.

Sheep have very thick and valuable wool, which has long been used for sewing. Do not think these lovely creatures suffer when they are left without their natural decoration. In fact, if the animal goes long having no haircuts, overgrown hair will disturb and even cause pain because of the sticky mud. So this procedure is required for them a couple of times a year.

After sheep are sheared, people weave cloth from wool and sew plaids, blankets and warm clothing for children and adults. It is important that sheep’s wool does not burn and, therefore, such textiles are not only environmentally friendly, but also fire resistant.

Sheep have one more feature which is worth paying attention to. They have not the usual round but rectangular pupils of the eyes. The unusual shape allows the animal to look back not turning its head that makes it feel relatively safe even in unfamiliar territory. Although in general, the vision they have is rather weak in comparison with human.

You might not know that the world regularly holds beauty contests for sheep, where participants evaluated purely on appearance. Those who have curly shiny hair, pretty eyes, bright ribbons and loving owners have a great chance to win. Machine Embroidery Design Little Lamb looking like the plush toy with charming roses in curls, certainly would have taken first place!
